We have another technique that we use, and we use this on a lot of caucasian hair, or
actually Ashley's hair, once again, cause she has such good hair, is perfect for this
technique also. We're going to do the same C parting, and what we're going to do is we're
going to create a lock using her own hair, but we're not going to add hair, but we're
going to do a little more matting up of it, so that it will look more like a traditional
dreadlock right away. And, in this technique, the first thing you do is you back comb the
hair, starting at the scalp and working your way down the strand. You want to back comb
cause you want to kink up the hair, you want it to get all matted up now. So, we're going
to back comb. O.k, till it's all nice and thick and matted. And, we can do this hair,
we can do this technique on any type of hair, especially straight hair, it works the best,
cause you don't need to do this technique on very, very curly hair cause it can just
be twisted. But, for a person who wants to walk out, who has long hair and wants to walk
out with something that looks like dreadlocks now, this is a prefect technique. We back
comb, then we separate it in two, and then we do the same two-strand twist working down
the strand, and the reason we back combed it first is because now, it's all matted up
and thicker than the first comb twist, I mean two-strand twist that we did there. Even though
we're still just using her hair, it's much more matted up and looks more like a dreadlock,
than if we just did the two-strand twist. And, then we further mat it up, by back combing
a little more to rough it up, to give it a more matted up look. And, it looks more like
a dreadlock, than a pretty little, smooth twist, like that one. But, some people prefer
that, cause that's a style in itself. So, we're going to do that, then we're going to
continue taking these little pieces of hair and wrapping them around, just like in the
lock extension, smoothing it between the fingers, then you can start at the top again, and work
your way down. And, this is almost locked, that looks more like a dreadlock, a natural
dreadlock instantly, more like that. So, there's another technique.
