South Street School 3: Big Plans
Mrs. Rock: How was your first day of school, Coby?
Coby: It was great! Mrs. Rock: Great? This morning you didn't
even want to go. Coby: I know. But now I think second grade
is the best. Mrs. Rock: Why?
Coby: Miss Gray is funny. And I sit next to Mark.
And guess what else, Mom? Mrs. Rock: What?
Coby: Miss Gray really likes sports. She said she'll play basketball at recess
with us. Mrs. Rock: Oh! Well, she does sound like a
fun teacher. Jenna: Hi, Dad! Want some help?
Mr. Gibson: Sure. Gibson Laundry was very busy today.
Mom and I worked hard all day long. Mr. Gibson: So how was the first day of school?
Jenna: It was terrible! Mr. Gibson: Terrible? What happened?
Jenna: I have to sit next to two boys. And Miss Gray is so . . .
Mr. Gibson: So what, honey? Jenna: So strange! This morning she had on
a diving mask and fins! Can you believe that, Dad?
And she kept saying we're going to "dive into learning."
Mr. Gibson: Oh. Well, that sounds kind of interesting.
Customer: My son had Miss Gray. She's a wonderful teacher, Jenna.
Jenna: Well, I still think she's strange! Miss Gray: Yoo-hoo! I'm home!
There you are! Come on, you two. It's time to get ready.
Tomorrow will be your first day of school. And I've got big plans for you!
