My washing machine is eating my clothes!
I thought just socks got eaten by the washer.
No, it is more than that. I have had bras, underwear, and shirts get holes in them.
Maybe it has a taste for your clothing.
That is not funny. What am I going to do about this?
Well, have you consulted the troubleshooting guide for your washer?
I did, it just said to make sure that all snaps, hooks etc. are fastened before washing.
Am I to assume you have done that?
Yes, I have.
Well, another thing you can try is to replace the gasket seal. Other people have had the
clothes eating problem and have found that to be a fix.
That sounds simple enough to do. I think even I might be able to do that.
I am sure that you can.
Another issue is that your washing machine may be too full. Sometimes the clothes wrap
around the agitator and they can get shredded.
Well, I don't like to waste water. You know I am part Scottish.
Yes, you are the thrifty Scots lady, but nonetheless the washer can not be too full, or it will
not wash properly.
Well, that sounds like the simplest fix. I guess I can make sure I am not overloading
the machine.
Yes, check that first and then move to plan B if you have to.
Can you buy those gasket liners at Home Depot or a hardware store of some sort?
Probably, but you may want to order one from the machine manufacturer to get the right
fit.
I will do that. You are so smart!
I know I am, just call me clever.
I will, and wise beyond your years.
OK, that is a bit too much!
