Hi, I'm going to try to explain one of the misconceptions. A lot of people are familiar
with acupuncture as a therapy for variety of ailments. But really, acupuncture is a
small part of traditional Chinese medicine. So there's actually five branches of traditional
Chinese medicine. The best known is dealing with acupuncture needles where you see insertion
of hearth and needles into the body into specific points on the body. But then there's other
aspects. There's things such as herbal therapy, where were dealing with variety of herbs over
five hundred which will be talking about later. There's massage therapy with some specific
techniques that are unfamiliar to some people who've received massage therapy using things
like washung, cupping which we'll explain later in more detail. Then there's diet therapy
which is unique outside what normal nutritionist talk about. There's energetic to every food
that we eat that we use to help to balance the body. And then there's exercise therapy.
Exercise therapy can involve anything from stretching to things like Tai Chi and Chi
Gong which are very common that we've all seen number of older people in the park doing
in China or even on their celebrex commercials that we see on tv. Everybody's moving very
slowly along the camera on a dance like movements. So remember when you actually go and see an
acupuncturist, you get more than just acupuncture.
