Hello, I'm Eddie and you're looking at a picture of a sink there in my bathroom.
On several occasions its been backed up and I wanted to tell you about a cheap and easy
way to keep a sink running freely and prevent clogs and slow running drains.
I talked to a man that worked for the Sewer Authority at one point and he told me about
all of the things that go down a drain and it's really a wonder that they don't get stopped
up more often than they do.
If you think about the toothpaste, the shaving cream, the make up. Hair, don't forget hair,
one of the major culprits.
Dead skin. All those things go into the sink to go down the drain.
Sometime they don't go down the drain.
That just makes everything back up.
Here's a quick and easy way to prevent that or to fix it once it does happen.
That's right! Just bleach.
You see here where I poured out half a cup. Maybe a little more.
Pour that into standing water or a slow moving drain.
Over time it dissolves all the stuff that gets built up on the walls of the plumbing
and keeps everything running freely.
Now this is what happened after I had a clog like that.
Slow running water would back up in the sink. What you see, what you hear now is the sound
and the sight of a drain running freely. No back up. No clog. Exactly what you want.
Just a tip. Let me turn that off. Just a tip.
One of the things you might want to do is to take maybe half a cup of bleach once a
month and pour it down the drain.
Let it sit there overnight while you're in bed, keeping things clean and running smoothly.
Another tip is also to be careful if there's a way for you to comb your hair away from
he sink or to cover the sink while you're coming your hair and keep all of that stuff
out of the sink you can prevent back ups and clogs in the first place.
There you have it. A cheap and easy way to use bleach to keep your drains, whether the
kitchen or the bathroom, running freely.
I'm Eddie.
