Hello everyone!
Today I'm at the field to review the brand new Puma evoPOWER 1.2
In the DRAGON colorway
How do they perform on the pitch?
Join me and find out!
The upper is made by Adap-Lite, which ensures a great comfort
It's also really flexible and it moulds around your feet after half an hour of break in period
Another thing worthy of a mention is the Accu-Foam panels that work like the memory foam we all know
I gotta say that this technology works pretty well and gave me a more natural fit
The fit, as I said before, is really perfect
Indeed, from the first try, the Puma evoPOWER 1.2 moulded to my feet really perfectly
The last of the boot is nor wide nor slim and for that the evoPOWER 1.2 can be used from a lot of players with different feet
Also, in the midfoot we find the everfitcage which is here to give you an even better and secure fit
A really interesting feature of this boot is the ability to bend in both ways in order to get a natural feel when striking
This is possible thanks to the Adap-Lite upper which flexes in the longitudinal direction
and obviously to the soleplate which flexes in both ways
But the question is: "Do they give you more power?"
I'm not so sure about that
But using this boot gave me a free sensation and almost like I was playing barefooted when, for example, I strike the ball
And this is something I really like
The ball touch is a great combination
Indeed the Adap-Lite is really thin and makes me feel really close to the ball
On the other hand the Accu-Foam panels give a more soft and padded feel to the ball
While maintaining a good and precise touch to the ball
Also, on the forefoot part we find the GripTex, which, according to Puma, should give more grip to the ball
Honestly, I think the grip to the ball is a negative point of these boots, although it's the only one
The soleplate is really particular
On the forefoot, in fact, it flexes in both ways
We find the Gradual Stability Frame (GSF)
Which starts from the heel, where the soleplate is really stiff and rigid, all the way to the forefoot where is really flexible
On the heel part we find four bladed studs which ensure a fast and efficient penetration to the ground
While on the forefoot we find a mix between conical studs which excell in rotational movements
and bladed ones, that are great when changing direction
I've really liked this soleplate as I've never slipped and also I found the studs configuration really stable and balanced
The protection is really good, mainly thanks to the Accu-Foam which absorbs most of the impacts
Durability wise, I haven't had any problems while using these boots for ten hours on this artificial grass pitch
Ending this review I think the Puma evoPOWER 1.2 is one of the best boots on the market and also, one of my favourites
They are really comfortable and the fit is perfect
Also, the ability to flex in both ways really made me pleased
But what do you think about these boots? Let me know, as always, in the comments!
