Hi. This is our fourth meeting, and today we will discuss the rhythm belledi with its variations.
Do you remember maqsoum?
Belledi is very similar. It only starts with two bass sounds.
Of course you should consider that if two separate rhythms vary by only one stroke
they probably vary more in terms of rhythmical variations, tempos and melodic structures they adapt.
The maqsuum is a rhythm played in fast and very fast tempos, so the basic variation is the roll or the TeKa.
Belledi, on the other hand, is played in medium tempo. And so, the basic variations are a roll followed by a TeKa sound. Let's take a closer look!
A finger roll finished with a Tak, Ka, and the main sound Tak.
Can you see it? Remember to play the whole first part twice.
Thanks for watching. See you next time!
