Faith is the depending upon the word of God only, and expecting that word only to do what
the word says it will do. I dont know if youve ever heard the term Justification by faith.
It sounds complicated but it is very simple. Justification means to be declared righteous.
Only God can declare or pronounce someone to be righteous. To be justified by faith
then, is to be justified by depending upon the word of God to make you righteous and
expecting that word alone to accomplish it. In a sense to be justified means to be "just-as-if-I'd-never-sinned".
Anyone who ever was or is to be saved must be justified by faith. Many Christians struggle
with this concept. We think that for God to save us or make us righteous there has to
be something we must do. But the Bible says that though all have sinned and come short
of the righteousness of God, yet we are "justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus, whom God hath set forth . . . to declare his righteousness for
the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God." we are justified
freely by grace. The minute we think we did something to earn it or must do something
to deserve it is the minute justification is no longer by grace but by works. Grace
means undeserved favor. Christ justifies us based on what He did, not what we do, and
its all done by His word. The same One who, in creating, "spoke, and it was", the same
One who said, "Let there be light, and there was light," the same One who on earth spoke
"the word only," and the sick were healed, the lepers were cleansed, and the dead lived--this
same One speaks the righteousness of God unto and upon all that believe whether we deserve
it or not. Check this out. In redemption, which is creation all over again, God through
Christ declares the word of righteousness over any and everyone who asks, and when Christ
speaks the word only, it is so. His word, whether in creating or in redeeming, is the
same. The bible says "The worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are
seen were not made of things which do appear." When the bible says there were no worlds before
He spoke them into existence, there were no worlds. And if there were no worlds there
was none of the material that now composes the worlds. When Christ brought the worlds
into existence He brought forth the materials also by which the worlds were composed. What
that means in English is that when God wants water, He doesnt call two hydrogens and an
oxygen to come together to give Him water. When He calls for water, He just gets water.
The hydrogens and oxygens get there when the water gets there. This is exactly how it works
in the justification of a man or woman of God. For God to declare righteousness in you,
He doesn't need a little bit of good to be in you before He speaks it into your life.
He doesn't need you to climb a mountain or beat yourself up in penitence because you're
sorry you offended Him. The same way this world was dark and void when He spoke this
world into existence is the same way you are spiritually when He speaks righteousness into
your life. People who try and wait until they get their life right before they come to God
don't know anything about God. Come to God in your sin and by faith He will take you
out your sin. Hey! if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
