Hi I am Amanda Millslagle, the Museum Store Manager here at The Hermitage. As the holidays
approach, I would like to take a moment to show you a few items in our store that might
help make this a very special season for you and your family.
Byer's Choice Carolers have been handcrafted in the United States for over 35 years. New
figures are introduced each year. This year one of my particular favorites is the little
Williamsburg boy in black velvet holding tightly to his drum and horn.
The Museum store has a wonderful assortment of Tennessee foods to offer for the holidays.
Willas Shortbread, Nashville Toffee, Tennessee White Trash, Walker Creek Confections, Colts
Bolts, Jack Daniels' sauces and spices, and a full line of jams and jellies from Rachel's
pantry here at The Hermitage. All items may be purchased individually or we would love
to create food baskets for that very special gift.
I'm James Yasko the Director of Education and Interpretatuion here at The Hermitage,
the home of President Andrew Jackson. This holiday season, we invite you to join us as
we offer truly special opportunities to celebrate the holidays. If you come, you can take an
evening tour where you get a private, guided tour of the mansion to explore how the Jacksons
and Jacksonian America, celebrated Christmas at the time. You can also visit the historic
grounds, see the mansion as it's decorated for Christmas, the way Jackson's would've
decorated for Christmas as well. So join us at The Hermitage and see how the Jacksons
celebrated Christmas. You might be surprised how different it is.
