In this video, we are going to launch a database on Amazon EC2
using the Oracle Standard Edition One AMI.
In the AWS Management console, click on Services and select EC2.
Click Launch Instance.
Select the Quick Launch Wizard, and enter a name for your new instance.
Select the keypair that you created earlier in this tutorial.
We will use mykeypair.
Under Choose a Launch Configuration, select More Amazon Machine Images, and click Continue.
In the search field, type Oracle Standard.
Select Oracle Database 11 64bit Standard Edition One, and click Continue.
Verify the instance details, and if everything looks OK, click Launch.
To view the status of your newly created EC2 instance,
click on Instances in the Navigation pane.
Here you can see that our new instance has a state of Pending
as the instance is currently being prepared.
This process can sometimes take a while to complete.
When the State is set to running and the Status Check no longer says initializing,
your EC2 instance will be ready to use.
