Hi!
Today we will be talking about green tea
us japanese can't live without our tea!
If you go to Japan and ask for 'tea',
(O-cha)
it's usually always green tea.
naturally there's thousands of different kinds
but I personally only drink two types.
The first is the most popular one and is called Sencha
it's older leaves I think, but I am unsure about the details...
it is the most popular and standard tea
and my personal favourite green tea is Genmaicha
Genmaicha is a type of tea with roasted rice
and because of this, it adds ....
dunno, I find it adds an interesting touch
I think green tea by itself can be a bit boring,
but the rice gives it a delicious hint of je ne sais quoi
One thing, that bothers me as a japanese
of course it's up to each person to do as they like!
but I always get a bit upset when I see people
drink it with sugar or other added flavours
greentea with: ginger - sugar - milk
lemon - orange - fig - vanilla ...wtf
In Japan, you always drink green tea plain.
you never add anything, no sugar, no honey, no nothing
that's simply how it's enjoyed
So it is possible that if ou order green tea in japan,
and ask for sugar, you will not get it,
because it's not done.
an exception would be other items with green tea flavour
You've probably heard of it: matcha
that's green tea powder
and comes in matcha lattes
matcha ice cream, matcha... dunno
sandwiches
I dunno, everything comes with matcha flavour
but that's a bit different, since it's not tea, but a flavour!
in which case you can just slap some whipped cream on top if you like
that's how it is.
I hope this was interesting to you
if you like the video give me a thumbs up or share
and I will see you soon bye!
