So you found an EBSCO ebook you want to read, but you don't want to be tied to your web browser to read it?
In this video we'll show you how to download an ebook to your computer for offline reading.
Initiate the Download by clicking the "Download" link.
You will be prompted to log in to your MyEBSCOHost account.
This is different than your SEU Login, and is free to make if you do not already have one.
Just click on "Create New Account" at this point if you need to set up an account.
If you already have an account, go ahead and log in.
You will now be prompted to select how many days you would like to have the book checked out for; you can select up to 7 days.
This is just the length of time the book will stay on your device. No need to return the book, it will automatically expire.
From this box, it also explains what you'll need to read the book on various devices.
To read on your computer, you will need Adobe Digital Editions, which is available for free download from this link.
Once installed, you will need to do a quick setup --
If you would like to transfer the ebook to a mobile device, like a Nook, you'll need to create an Adobe ID.
If you don't want to transfer to another device, you can skip this step by clicking "Don't Authorize"
You will only need to do this
the first time you download a book. Ebooks will open in this program automatically hereafter.
You will also need the Adobe ID for reading on your mobile device with the Bluefire Reader App, which is available on Apple and Android devices.
Once you have the necessary reader installed,
you can click "Checkout & Download"
On your computer, the book will download as a file. Once you open it, it will appear in Adobe Digital Editions.
It will also be in your MyEBSCOHost folder under Checkouts if you would like to access it later.
