Hi, I'm Stephen Monet, Manager of Environmental Planning Initiatives
with the City of Greater Sudbury, and this is EarthCare Minute.
Here's how you can prepare for a greener holiday this year.
Reduce waste by sending e-cards or greeting cards made from post-consumer
recycled content.
Decorate with LED lights. They use up to 95 percent less energy than
incandescents. Homemade gifts are often more ecological,
economical and meaningful. You can also green your gift-giving with
eco-friendly product lines. Make sure to remove all your decorations so your
Christmas tree can be chipped
and composted. Consumption
and waste skyrocket during the holidays. While it's important to be
environmentally friendly all year long,
we especially need to do our part during the holiday season.
EarthCare Minute. One minute is all it takes.
Brought to you by the City of Greater Sudbury.
