So grabbed some news on Gears Of War today. Seems that Microsoft bought the Gears Of War
franchise off Epic games for an undisclosed sum of money A couple months ago. It seems
Gears Of War: Judgment sold so poorly in comparison to the rest of franchises back in 2013 that
Microsoft thought it would be smart to step in with thier deep pockets to save Epic games
from going belly up in future while grabbing the franchise in the process. Rod Fergusson
the producer of Gears Of War has been given the directors chair and has returned to Microsoft
to continue working on the series. However, Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski says
he's staying as far away as he can from working on the new Gears Of War title and will not
be involved.
I have some bad news for those of you who wanted to see a continuation of the Gears
of War franchise. It seems like Microsoft is planning on "rebooting" the Gears of War
franchise in an extremely different graphical artstyle. It particularly says in the News
article that it's not a "reboot" but it is just says that because Microsoft doesn't like
that "overused" terminology. Point of the story is no continuation of the previous story!
Hope you weren't excited to see what was going to happen next in the Gears Of War franchise
because now you'll never know.
Anyhow, why can't game developers continue work with what they started? People already
loved how the franchise played and looked to begin with? Why change the formula on something
that has sold so well in the past? Could it be that the Xboxone just can't handle the
expected level of graphical fidelity this go round? So they have to change the art style?
I wouldn't doubt it. Don't forget to like, comment, favorite, and subscribe! I'll see
ya later! Thank you for the support!
