[Keith Miller] Ooo. Oh Mason! Mason! I got one!
[Narrator] Keith Miller has caught a fish every day for
the past year. But on his 366th day, he's having a bit of trouble.
[Keith Miller] 20-inch sea trout. I think I'm five for five
today at the Backyard Casting station.
[Narrator] But it's not about the fish he catches, it's
about getting kids outdoors and having fun.
[Two kids] Go Keith!
[Keith Miller] People come up to me at these events and say
'I saw you on the news or in the newspaper and we just wanted to come out and meet you,'
but it brought them out to a state park. That's a success right there!
[Narrator] Keith's confidence has good reason... he's
caught a fish every day for a year back in 2009.
[Heather Miller] He wanted to do it again and he wanted to
do it for a cause.
[Keith Miller] My whole desire and purpose is to get kids
out fishing that normally wouldn't have that opportunity and it's been a fantastic relationship
with both Parks and Wildlife and Junior Anglers and Hunters of America.
[Ed Gerhart] Keith Miller, a fishing legend.
(clapping)
[Narrator] Pledges from Facebook fans helped raise funds
to take 400 inner-city kids on fishing trips this year.
[Keith Miller] Fishing is all about patience and responsibility.
[Heather Miller] Some days he's out there at 5 o'clock in the
morning and he gets his fish by 7 and he's off to work. There were days in December where
seven hours later, it was dark outside and he was out there fishing.
[Narrator] And now Keith has a more personal stake for
getting gets outdoors. He and Heather are expecting one of their
own.
[Susie Miller] We got a little baby minnow! (laugh) I'm so
excited! I'm going to call the kid Minnow.
(laughs)
[Narrator] For Texas Parks and Wildlife, this is Lydia
Salda§a.
