Hello fellow HeroEngine developers and welcome to this video of SnowCloud Entertainment
in which will present our Asset Placement tool, which was created in collaboration with
Jrome90 from the HE Forums.
Now we are in character mode and once we go in development mode
two buttons have spawned: The whitebox importer tool
and the Asset Placement Tool.
*Uhhhm* what we're going to do is that propose that we are going to select a preset on which
the Asset Placement Tool runs.
And for the sake of the video I created 3 presets
We will use the first
and it has given us a uh... 4 SpeedTree's: 2 ferns and 2 kinds of trees
and we're going to select each one of them them
because i want to place
each of them, so i'm going to place five six of these

two of these and like like seven of these
Now I have the choice to use either a random
The random rotation is specified in the asset properties editor.
then going to the object
and it's uh... where we define our collision... The name... collision dinning
..The scale, which is from hundred percent to zero percent to two hundred percent
The rotation on the x-axis
uh... which i let to be zero *Rumble rumble* for the moment.
there is the Y rotation which I set to maximum and there is the Z rotation
which i set to a minimum
uh...
so what we're going to do is that we're going to use a random rotation of the
terrain normal because of the train normal on the flat terrain all of our trees
will just stand straight
and to show you, we're going to start a placement
and as you can see now we have uh... a small circle which will go to increase
drastically
let's see
yeah i like
i like this, and to place it with we're going to press return
uh... and we're going to stop the placement
and we can close it
and as you can see, we've placed a large number of objects around twenty, I
would say
let's check
uh... seventeen objects
*Mwah* close enough
seventeen objects randomly and almost instantly
