Apparently God's wrath was directed at those Southern tornado victims. It was only a matter
of time before we heard this, right? First we had the professional corporate climate
change deniers snorting at the idea that global warming might've played a part in the devastating
tornadoes, now we have religious-right climate change deniers claiming that they know what
did cause the tornadoes, Louis. In fact, they were the product of God's wrath. This is Dr.
Calvin Beisner, and he's voicing his views on none other than our friend Bryan Fischer,
who said on this program the *** wall is one cell thick, don't know where he came up
with that, telling Bryan Fischer about the wrath of God in the storms.
Calvin Beisner: ... Bryan, is that we need to recognize that natural disasters like this
are like distant early warning signals. There is judgment to come. We're all sinners. None
of us, none of us, is righteous enough to say oh, I wouldn't deserve it if that happened
to me. And so what we're all called to do is to repent of our sins...
David: Right.
Beisner: And to embrace Jesus Christ.
Louis: This guy doesn't think he's righteous.
Beisner: What God is looking for is the fruit of righteousness.
David: Oh, give me a break, you know what God's looking for. Calvin Beisner knows. By
the way, you could say anything to Bryan Fischer on that show and he would react the exact
same way. I mean, Louis, let's... I'll be Bryan Fischer, just say all hurricanes are
caused by the Jews, and then I'll react the way Bryan Fischer would.
Louis: Bryan, all hurricanes are caused by the Jews.
David: Hmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. And you would have to have more and go on, but you could say
anything on that show, and as long as it's outrageous, go on there and defend gay rights,
and obviously he won't give you that reaction.
By the way, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky, states affected
by the tornadoes, overwhelmingly voted to reject the science that polluting the climate
is dangerous. They are deliberately ignoring the warnings not from God, but from scientists,
which, as we know, they probably don't really care about that much.
Louis: Clearly.
David: All right, well...
