We got someone from Ohio. Senator Nina Turner!
New York!
Man, it is so good to be back here.
I want to thank J.P. so much.
I want you to know, New York, that you've got to support your native son,
Senator Bernie Sanders.
Now, the cause is right and the time is now.
You know Senator Sanders has heart-soul agreement.
He's not one of those elected officials that decides to supports issues when it's convenient.
He has been consistent.
We need a leader that believes in the working poor and the middle class.
And somebody that says enough,
is enough,
is enough.
We can have universal health care in this country. We deserve it.
The cause is right and the time is now.
We can make sure that we raise the minimum wage federally in this country to $15 an hour.
The cause is right
and the time is now.
And Senator Bernie Sanders has been fighting for that increase in that wage.
He didn't just go to a signing for the increase in New York.
He's been standing up for it the whole time.
And when it wasn't popular to support
our gay, lesbian, and transgender brothers and sisters,
Senator Bernie Sanders has been there the entire time.
The cause is right and the time is now.
He has stood up against trade deals that have taken away good paying jobs
from people in this country.
The cause is right and the time is now.
Now, New York, it's good when the family gets together.
It's good when the family gets together, but I'm going to tell you something.
We've got to get out there and make sure that people get out there to vote
to make sure that we upset the political establishment.
The cause is right
and the time is now.
And I'm going to tell you how we're going to do it, New York.
I'm going to tell you a story that my grandmother,
who was born in 1913, used to tell me.
She said, all that we need in this world to be successful are the three bones:
the wishbone, the jawbone, and the backbone.
See, the wishbone would keep us hoping and praying because hope is the motivator,
but the dream is the driver.
We're not going to let people tell us that Senator Sanders is reaching too big
or dreaming to high.
My god, if we can send a man to the moon, we can educate our children.
If we can abolish slavery and women can get the right to vote,
we can have universal health care in this country.
The cause is right and the time is now.
We're going to use our jawbone to speak truth to power,
in the same way that Senator Bernie Sanders has been doing all of his conscious life.
Sisters and brothers in New York,
integrity is what you do when nobody is watching.
And as a 20-something year old young man,
he put his body on the line for civil rights and social justice
in this country.
And the most important bone of all,
the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious bone,
is the backbone.
Because the backbone will keep us standing through
tall of our trials and our tribulations.
And sister and brothers, in this life,
we are going to go through some stuff,
but we can't have a testimony without a test.
And we are being tested
about whether or not we have heart enough,
strength enough,
soul enough,
humanity enough to stand up
and to do what is right!
The cause is right!
We are going to do this.
Now, we've got to warm it up.
I'm bringing up here the president, Chris Sheldon, of the CWA.
But,
before we do that, you've all got to do something for me
because we've go to make it warm for when the senator comes on the stage.
So when I say "Feel!", you say "Bern!". Feel!
Bern! Feel! Bern! Feel! Bern! Feel! Bern! Feel! Bern! Feel! Bern!
Let's do this, New York!
