San Diego County Credit Union
Most banks aren’t an overnight success. San Diego County Credit Union, or SDCCU followed that same formula
SDCCU was chartered in 1938, and the original name of the bank was San Diego County Employees Credit Union
SDCCU was set up at first to serve the needs of the local government employees in the San Diego area
As the bank has grown over the years, they eventually let all residents of San Diego join the credit union
Much of the bank’s past is a bit of a mystery, but they did change their name in the 1970s from San Diego County Employees Credit Union to the current name, San Diego County Credit Union
Since SDCCU started to accept more and more people over time, they really started to grow their membership base. Currently, they boast a membership of over 230,000 all over the country
SDCCU pride themselves on exceptional customer service, and their not-for-profit model shows that they truly care for their members
They currently have over $5.6 billion in assets and 28 locations in order to proudly serve their members
One the biggest reasons for their steady growth has been their sponsorship of major national events across the nation
The other way that SDCCU built their amazing reputation has been through charity work in the local area
