Your company's reputation
As an employer, you're responsible for ensuring your drivers are qualified and maintain safe
driving records.
As a business partner with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, you have a resource that
can help you do just that.
Introducing Driver Alert: a subscription service for you to receive information you need to
know about your drivers' DMV records.
Hundreds of Virginia companies are taking advantage of Driver Alert.
Here's how it works: Provide a roster of your driver information;
Tell DMV what safety issues are important to you;
DMV automatically monitors your employee records and sends you a driver alert.
Convenient and immediate alerts help you manage your employee drivers and the safety of your
company.
Driver Alert eases your burden of manually monitoring drivers and ensures your cargo
is in safe hands.
Enrolling in Driver Alert is easy.
Complete an application, available on the DMV website dmvNOW.com.
Obtain permission from your drivers to receive their DMV records.
Submit to DMV your list of drivers. You can easily add or remove drivers from the list,
when needed. Pay a $25 two-year subscription fee.
Then customize your alerts. You decide what information to receive:
Moving violation convictions, such as speeding or running traffic signals
Accumulation of seven negative points within a calendar year
License suspensions, revocations, and disqualifications, including reckless driving and DUI convictions
Select one or all types of alerts. For each driving record you receive, you'll pay $9.
No safety issues, no charge.
In addition, companies employing drivers with commercial driver's licenses can select the
month and day you want to receive required annual risk management driver records.
In today's competitive environment, you have the opportunity to leverage a cost-effective
service to ensure your employee drivers stay safe and qualified.
Protect your company and show your commitment to highway safety.
