I'm Korean
And I'm American
And we're going to teach you some Nasty slangs~
Today's slang
is not actually slang
It's a yuhaengeo
yuhaengeo literally means Popular word
neukkimanikka
neukkimanikka
Ok, here is the problem with yuhaengeo
Usually it references to something
And if I don't know what it's referencing
I have no way of guessing what it means
You're out of the loop
It's form Gag concert
ok, hold up
Not everybody knows what a gag concert is
In Korea there is sketch comedy exactly like there is SNL
Then there is also this live-stage performance
That is called the Gag concert
These shows have lots of segments in them
But they always have the same format
Which means that the more you watch it
The easier it is to understand
that's what a Gag concert is
It's a weekly show
And a lot of people watch it
for example my dad and my mom
It's on Sunday
It's nice. So they watch it in the couch
And kind of laugh about it
So it's a family show
It's sort of a sharing experience thing
A lot of you guys probably are loving shows like Running man and Infinite challenge
I have friends that quote those shows a lot
So it's kind of important to keep up-to-date with that
So just that you can keep up with the yuhaengeo
neukkimanikka it's almost always the same plot
She is an actress
And then she reads the script
Eating a hamburger she will go like "I can't do this"
"It makes me fat"
"I can't eat hamburgers"
So it's kind of a diva thing
Yeah. She is like a diva
She is reading the script and trying to decide what to do or not
Smoking on a rooftop
The funny thing is, the most of the actresses will go "I can't smoke"
"It's bad image"
But she goes "Yeah. I can do that"
neukkimanikka
The meaning of the phrase neukkimanikka
is "I know how to do this"
I've got this.
I've done that. I can do it really well.
Really difficult things, even *** things
or even doing badass stuff
She always goes like "I will do it. I know how to do it. Been there, done that"
I also use it whenever my mom is like "Oh, Soozee, could you do this?"
I will go "Yeah... neukkimanikka"
It's kind of a little joke
You can make people laugh.
Oh my God, Soozee. Are we teaching people family-friendly slang?
Finally.
What happened to sausagefesting?
I've seen six year olds go like "neukkimanikka"
Oooooohhhh
leleellelelele
But it's so huge now
So I think you definitely want to know this.
One tip:
If you watch gag concert
You definitely want to bring this up to your boss
Say "Oh, did you watch this phrase?"
It's like breaking the ice
In the office
Insider tip
Yeah. This one my sister does.
She always watches gag concert
because her bosses like it
And Soozee's sister can network like a champ
She's not like me
Shhhh
So that's yuhaengeo
I'm going to put some more yuhaengeo form gag concert on our blogpost
And if you want to know more about it you can check out out blogpost
last week we talked about something that was specific to the bodybuilder circles
This time we're going to be talking about something that is specific to the fanfiction world
mmmm~ the word is "ship"
[S]Ship? [L]It's a verb
To ship
To ship. It's fanfiction word. [L]Fanfiction
I will ship this to you
[Laughs]
I will put in my ...ship to you
Is this a word that describes something or is it something you do as a fanfic reader?
As a fanfiction reader it is something that you do.
For example:
Uh... what's a good fanfic example?
I don't read fanfic
I don't either
Ooooh
Oh, I tooootally ship Bella/Jacob
I totally have a crush on someone?
FAIL
It's getting hard
To ship somebody is to support fanfiction
That is a romantic pairing between two people
FanFiction is its own little world
So they have a bunch of terms like this
That relate to specific pairings
In Twilight Bella ends up with Edward
But if you ship Bella and Jacob that means that they are your OTP
One true pairing
I might dabble into Drako/Harry fanfiction
But Bella and Jacob is my #1 in my heart of all times
So there is a million words like this
And most of them revolve around these pairings
OTP is One True Pairing
Then there is "slash"
Which is originally from Star Trek
This is old, old slang, guys
Star Trek fanfiction
It was Spock and Captain Kirk
so it was Spock slash Kirk
And that's how you got "slash"
Oh there is so much fanfiction in the world, guys...
There are so many... What's your favorite fanfic?
OTP?
Ship
Slash
Is it TOP/GD?
Top/GD? Uuu~
Mmmm~
NosyFood asks: is Leigh like 50 years old?
Are you?
Inside my heart I'm a 78 y/o man
ok?
Maybe not 78, maybe 76. [S]Maybe 76
I like cardigans and I like milk tea and I like whiskey
And I just want to sit at home reading and raising my fist about these youngins, ok?
So inside I'm older than 50
Show some respect
Mikami asks: what ssagaji [싸가지] means?
Does it have a negative connotation?
Or? What does it actually mean?
Soozee, why don't you tell us?
Ok, ssagaji actually means... It's like "I'm a ***, I can do whatever I want"
"I don't care"
It's definitely a negative thing
Soozee, why are you holding my Ipad?
My Ipad...
[Laughs]
I didn't know...
What Ipad? What are you talking about?
I am not holding anything in my hand
People will say "Oh, ssagaji eopda"
ssagaji eopseo
It means like "nu-uh, she is rude as hell"
And you don't wanna be friends with her
Question:
Yes, yes, yes?
Ok, so I've also heard people say nunchi eopda
Which is like "You have no sense"
No social sense
Is ssagaji harsher or less harsh than nunchi eopda?
ssagaji is Much harsher
You don't wanna be a ssagaji person
it's like in CL's song... oh wait, 2ne1 song "crush"
oops
In those kind of lyrics it also means "I'm a ***, I don't care about things"
"I can do whatever I want"
I'm a rude dude I don't care who knows.
You could also say
ssaksuga eopda
ssaksu? [S] ssaksu
ssaksu [S]Yeah, you could check it out on the blogpost more.
ssaksuga eopda
Cool.
All right
Done [L]Done

Korean is hard
I'm learning new things
See you next time
Bye, guys.
I'm not going to disappear this time
really?
I will stick around.
