George W Bush has been in the news a little bit recently
first he was in the news about a week ago
for going to talk to a group whose goal is to converge Jewish people
for the Second Coming Jesus now of course a lot of people had moral issues
with that
and I mean it's just a group of crazy people because they believe the Bible is
literally true when they have this mission in the former president is going
to speak for them
so I get the criticism I did talk about on the show because I already know
george bush in a smart guy and he's not doing a smart thing
but this other story I find kind interesting
he also decided to speak recently to 2500
oil and gas industry leaders at a conference
and while he was there he brought the Keystone XL pipeline
and he said quote I do think were underperforming economically and I think
the reason why is there's not enough focus on private sector growth
I think the goal in the country want to be
how do we grow the private sector that ought to be the laser focus of any
administration
and therefore once that's the goal an issue like Keystone pipeline becomes a
no brainer
if private sector growth is the goal and Keystone
pipeline preach 20,000 new jobs build the damn thing
and of course people appointed and they love the idea cuz he's a sellout
so what he's saying is I would approve Keystone XL in a second
and on a break that down but first
let's do well on the ironi george bush lecturing Obama
about private sector job growth when under Obama he's created over seven
million new private sector jobs
and don't get me wrong I have many issues with that job creation because
it's mostly low-wage jobs so I can critique it
but he didn't create over seven million new private sector jobs
and under Bush he lost
over 600,000 private-sector jobs
so where you don't get to critique President Obama's jobs record when years
was
way worse way worse but putting that aside
but let me give you some facts about the Keystone XL pipeline
it would carry 830,000 barrels a tar sands oil through the midwest
every single day and it would definitely leak
and spill and the reason I say that is because a
the southern like the Keystone pipeline which was made with the same materials
it's already knowing that there is no article just today talking about how
their sweet all over the place and spills
and tar sands burns dirtier than conventional oil
causing $27 million more metric tons of carbon dioxide
every year it would cause the the equivalent of the emission
a 100 81 million metric tons of carbon dioxide
every single year which is more than 30 7.7 million cars
on the road extra cars on the road or 51 coal plants
that's the title but you know addition to global warming we're talking about
and the pump stations that would move the oil will also omit 4.4 million
metric tons of carbon dioxide each year and when tar sands is refined
there's also a byproduct called pet coke which is by like a cheaper version of
coal
and it burns dirtier and that would also be exported for
use which would make the environment
even more dirty and pollute even more so the effect this has on global warming
are hideous but also keep in mind america is in actually gonna get any oil
its all gonna be shipped out so I love when people say well we need a pipeline
to become more oil independent
or not actually keeping it not a pleasure to keep it up later to ship it
all out
and just in russia corporations more and
well finally when bush at all no create 20,000 jobs
I don't know where he got the number I think he just made it up
because unusually it supposed to create 3900 jobs
but those are just temporary jobs you know how many but
permanent jobs it creates 39
so here's the reality:
its gonna but pollute the environment
show much its gonna and to global warming so much
no profits are actually gonna stay in the united states of america
%uh NH gonna create almost no jobs I agree with bush that it's a no brainer
but it's a no brainer
to not do it
