Everyday, the 15,000 men and women who work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
work to advance public health in the United States and around the world. From rapidly
detecting and responding to infectious diseases, to preventing injuries, birth defects, and
chronic conditions, CDC uses science to help people live longer and healthier lives. We’re
committed to increasing our understanding of what’s happening with people’s
health status, what’s happening with the effectiveness of our health care system,
what’s happening with the impact of our public health programs. We’re also
focusing on increasing the effectiveness of our work with state and local public health
agencies. CDC was created to support state and local public health. And we’re
increasing the impact of our global health programs, because we’re all connected
by the air we breath. Because a healthier world is a safer world. And because it’s
the right thing to do. And we’re committed to doing everything we can to help Americans
live longer and healthier lives by making the healthier choice the easiest thing to
do. In public health we see the faces and lives behind the numbers. And at CDC we do
everything we can to help people live longer and healthier lives. Thank you.
