Hello Heroes! I'm Irina Kassina, your community developer. Welcome to this video from Might & Magic Heroes VI!
Today we'll see how the Ability tree works. Keep in mind the final interface may be a little different.
So right after the last battle against Stronghold, Irina levels up!
Her primary stats are increased, and she gains an ability point.
This point can be used to learn a new ability.
So here is the Ability Tree. As you can see it is divided into three main tabs : Might, Magic and Hero.
The Might tab is itself divided in five families of skills, also called "schools".
This is the paragon school of Abilities, that affect which affects your Hero directly.
This is the Realm school, linked to the management of your kingdom.
This is the Tactics school. As you can see I learnt an ability from this school.
These are the War Cries, to give a temporary boost to the creatures on the battlefield.
And this is the Warfare school, to give passive bonuses to your creatures.
Now let's see the Magic abilities.
Again, five schools are available.
While the Might schools are common to everyone, each Faction has access to different schools of Magic.
Irina has access to the Air, Earth, Water, Light and Prime schools of abilities.
But being a Might Hero, she won't be able to learn Rank 3 abilities. Those are for true spellcasters.
In turn, Magic Heroes can't learn the Rank 3 Might abilities.
The Hero tab shows abilities linked to your Faction and class.
These abilities are automatically learnt, you don't have to spend an ability point for these.
Here you see the Faction Ability, called Honour.
Here is the Heroic Strike. It has a different effect depending on the Faction.
Reputation Abilities are linked to your Blood or Tears class. For the moment Irina is still neutral.
You can also see the spot for the Starting Ability, also called the Specialization.
It's empty for the moment because the Specilizations were still a work in progress in this version.
OK, I should spend my point now.
What ability should I learn? Mmmm...
I know! I'll learn one of the new abilities of Heroes VI.
It is called Architect, and allows you to build new structures in town for a reduced price.
Irina is now ready to continue her quest!
I hope you liked this introduction to the new Ability system. See you soon for a new video!
