hello everybody
this is chris five three seven with you, once again
and i am gonna demonstrate 2 u how to get C-Base 2.0 working.
its a primitive version
I made a couple disks today
and actually got it online, so
we will go with our good ole BBS server
The functions you need on here
under advanced
actually have it set at 1200 baud (BPS)
null modem cable
everything un checked
connecting, thats what i have
so i actually do not
have the wait bbs for
bbs to send 'ATA' before completing connection checked
on this spacific version
it does send a ring when
it connects
and uh... raises DTR
when it disconnects is just a standard setting like you see on my other videos
under diagnostics
i was trying to see what the modem was doing but usually i have them unchecked.
under emulation
um...
i have that on 20 but should be on 5
dont ask me why but it works
on outgoing calls for the bbs to see when it connects
the enable hayes emulation is checked
and we are using a standard RS232 cable
which is if you can kinda see it there
plugged into that
port on the other side of the commodore 64
so that's all thefunctions I have going on here
we load the BBS here
I do have it on a
standard fifteen fourty one disk
hopefully i hit the commodore key quick enough
and today we are using a fifteen eighty one
disk drive
and thats all im using
so were gonna go ahead and load the BBS
now that we got this far
excuse my shaking
gotta love JiffyDos!
uh... the time at the moment is zero six colon zero five
PM if i can type it in right
now if you have a configured modem and this isnt correct
ill go thru it with ya real quick
im actually using the
I hit no at the previous prompt
at that prompt
and so im using twelve hundred hayes
jibber jabber... ;)
uh... security level
im just gonna use eight
just for the hell of it
just hit return enter
at the SysOp promt we are not available
you can hit ninty thru all of these and if you just hit enter
it will just give you thirty minutes
this is back when they had AM PM
time levels
i think back in nineteen eighty nine
when you had these on your telephone and stuff
the maximum time on the system per day is ninety and we to want guest
so we will
allow our welcome
screens your abort
and not want 300 baud users or when it sends the init string
it will be in 300 baud
so were just gonna hit enter
use what it said, hit enter, enter, enter
always through it man
and were just using one drive
um... and thru our colors we will pick
dark green and pick light green
and light blue... Our cursor color will be white
if the control color works
its been a long time since I tried it
if that dont work it's actually the number of the color
return to continue lets load er up
you do not want to use the fast load with jiffy dos
but i dont ever recommend the fast load with this. hint.hint. return when you see the Disk Prompt
fifteen eighty one action
and now were at the screen
crank it up alittle bit
so were gonna log in
were gonna log in with VICE actually
lens is alittle smearey
we will log in as PacRat what the hell
would give you the original SysOp view and this is on the vice end
thats what it looks like
but it's always cooler to see it on the commodore, you know how it is
actually the screen is a little clearer on there... There is the subs...
trying to do it single-handedly here
and you know on the sysop side its pretty much the same way
pretty cool stuff
we do have online games which i will show you real quick
ill have to revamp that menu for the endless chaos bbs. (Ding! CTRLG)
show ya the main menu which looks like a familiar menu.
remember that bbs phone # hehehe
i could show ya some other things but its gonna take long enough to upload this video
so lets go ahead and log out... and this is the epic screen
from ninety ninety
I actually made that screen
and now were gonna disconnect and c-ya chrisa537@gmail.com
