GEORGE: Hi.
My name is George.
FARID: And my name is Farid.
GEORGE: And we are the owners of Bogota Latin Bistro here in
Park Slope, Brooklyn.
The mission for Bogota Bistro is to elevate the status and
awareness of Latin food, Colombian food, through drink,
food, culture, art, music.
When people step in here, I want to take them to that
place where they feel like they're in
Central, South America.
FARID: Google has assisted us in developing our business and
growing our business through, basically, being the world's
number one search engine, and allowing us also to place
ourselves on an even playing field, through the use of
AdWords, with some of the best restaurants
that are out there.
GEORGE: By using the AdWords, Colombian restaurant, Latin
restaurant in New York, and Brooklyn--
FARID: Vital keywords.
GEORGE: Vital keywords.
It pretty much directed a 50% spike in traffic to our
website, which then turned into at least a 10% to 12%
increase in traffic coming through these doors.
FARID: By people supporting us, we've added value to this
neighborhood.
It just becomes a much more attractive place to work,
shop, live.
GEORGE: I employ 55 employees.
I take great pride in that I have a great crew of staff
members, and knowing that my business is, in fact,
providing them income.
One of my highest paid employees now started with me
as a dishwasher.
And he's now my kitchen manager.
And just to see that someone's gone through the system, I
take great pride in that.
FARID: A customer on her way out approached me and asked me
if I was the owner.
And upon informing her that I was, she said, what you've
done for this community is incredible.
I can't begin to tell you.
No one's ever come close to getting me to that point of
getting really, really emotional.
Because that statement alone encompasses all the work, all
the planning, all the fears, all the doubts, all the
excitement, all the sweat.
Everything that we had invested in this restaurant.
