JAYNE ENTWISTLE: So, improv is basically like a sport. And if you're going to do any sport,
it's imperative that you warmup. You never know what you might be required to do on stage.
You might need to crawl along the floor like a snake or act like a monkey. You may need
to spin your legs really fast in the air, and if you don't warmup you could actually
injure yourself. So I treat improv like a sport. I recommend warming up before any performance.
Warmups are imperative. They're a good to get your mind set. Now, not all groups agree,
some do games to warmup, some just drink a beer. There's no right or wrong way. This
is just the way that I like to do it. I like to do physical warmups and I like to do vocal
warmups and get myself really prepared to be in the mode of improv. Now, somebody's
warmups going to look like you do when you're at the gym, and some we don't even know what
we look like but we just know they're fun and they work. So we're going to teach you
a series of warmups to get you ready to do improv.
