My name is Amber Medda, I was born in Rhodes in Greece,
grew up in Italy and in England.
I travelled a great deal from a very young age and had fortune of being
able to go all sorts of different places and meet different people
I moved to America, to New York
which of course is a very cosmopolitan city and and that really gave me the
kick to really want to do something and to be able to bring designed to its
fullest potential
there was creating exhibitions really experiencing the whole sense of
possibility that comes with living in the U.S.
and decided to go to visit MIAMI for apostle back in two thousand four
and as i arrived i realized, WOW, this is a whole new exciting world here but
it was all focused on the on arts and i thought how strange like so much
of this could be done for design so uh... i did it
i directed the fairs in both Miami and Basel for seven years and after doing
that i thought well
i've done this and it's time to move on i thought it was good for the fair to be
able to
mature and evolve in a different direction and for me especially I felt as though
i needed a new challenge so I moved to New York and have opened a creative
agency where i do all sorts of creative projects
putting talent together with brands, writing for magazines and newspaper
I love living in New York primarily because there's so much culture to have
access to, I am constantly on the go
you know inspiration comes from anywhere really so i have to be able to pull out
a pen and paper in pretty much any circumstance
so I'll sit you know maybe in the lobby of the museum and i'll take notes
after a visit to the section and then i'll move on to the next section and
then when i meeting the people i usually job down in different ideas or they may
say something that i want to come back to
coming from the world of design of course function and form are
perfection but when it comes to my pen
beauty is is really not enough it has to be
super efficient and it has to follow me everywhere I go. Go big or go home.
