Dave: Dave Gardy here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Brickyard at Clean Cities
Stakeholder's Summit with a Clean Cities Coordinator. This is Stacy Neef, she's from
Central Texas Clean Cities thanks for joining us and coming over. Stacy: Oh you're
quite welcome. Dave: Tell us a little bit about what you got going on down there in
Central Texas Stacy: Well we have a little bit of everything going on. We're opening up
a brand new public access C&G station over near our airport; the city of Boston C&G fleet
is expanding. We've got a lot of propane activity going on down there and we're working
really hard to bring in ethanol and biodiesel. Dave: That's great now how does the
community reacted to all the programs you are working with? Stacy: Well cant say so much
really about the community as far as the public is concerned, we do try to anything we do,
we want to have public access stations so that does make a point and kind of hits home
with the community but mostly of course we are trying to really provide services for the
fleets that are out there the mandated fleets, and also the fleets from those agencies
that are being told that they need to do some reductions on their petroleum purchasing.
Dave: What are some of the challenges you see in the future with the new technologies you
are trying to implement and some of the ideas you have had with stakeholders down there?
Stacy: I think there are so many choices now. Electric is really coming into its own and
where we saw a lot more activity with the gaseous fuels there's a little bit more interest
in seeing what's going to happen with the electric and hybrid electric applications.
Dave: Are the communities responding with plans for the charging instillations? Stacy:
I think they're kind of waiting to see who is really going to take a lead and at this
point its Austin Energies, the city of Austin's Utility Company and we are taking a lead,
we have developed some programs or processes and policies as far as instillations of home
charging stations. We are working with Coolum in their Charge America program, we are
installing one hundred and twenty five public access charging stations and I think the
more that we get out there with that, that's a message itself and we will see some more
activity as far as purchasing vehicles and putting them on the road. Dave: Excellent,
well congratulations on such a great program you've got down there and thanks for stopping
by here. That's Stacy Neef with the Central Texas Clean Cities, were at the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway with the Clean Cities Stakeholder's Summit for two thousand and eleven.
