So now we're going to use Jefferson's method to apportion, these 75 seats in
Rhode Island. Now you remember that our original
divisor was original divisor was 14034 and ended up giving us 72 of the 75 seats
allocated. and so we're really going to need to
adjust this here, so let's go ahead and adjust, and our new divisor, that's here,
we need to make it smaller, let's try 13,500.
and so using our new divisor we can divide each population by that divisor,
and, and come up with our new quotas. So with the new quotas, now we have our
new allocations which if we add those up to 76.
Oh oh. So this is a problem because this means
we allocated too many seats. we only had 75 seats to allocate.
So we're going to need to, so we're going to have a new, a new divisor now.
We're going to need to adjust it again. so its going to need to be a little bit
bigger than than 13500, 13, 13500 was, was too small.
so lets go and see what happens now. So that's going to give us some new
quotas, and based on these new quotas we can calculate out our allocations.
And we end up with 75 seats allocated now and that works for us.
