Dared to hope to dream of finally feeling oh so, truly clean
But that just cannot be at least until we find a way to
see us through to the other side in this land aquatically denied
But here and now are not the time not place still so much water to replace
So, I'm resigned to wait till it precipitates
At least a little bit Just a little bit
Not asking for a storm A storm might be too much
Maybe just a shower Then I could take a longer shower
At least a sprinkle At least a solitary rain drop
Wait for the drop
Dared to hope to dream of finally seeing lawns a shade of green
But I won't let that get me down as I drive around this town that's turned
a dry and dusty brown And now, it's low flow this,
and low flow that, and so much that I miss But when I see that reservoir,
I know I do not dare to wash my car
I'm resigned to wait till it precipitates
At least a little bit Just a little bit
Not asking for a storm A storm might be too much
Maybe just a shower Then I could take a longer shower
At least a sprinkle At least a solitary rain drop
Wait for the drop
