To make a doll food cart stand your'e going to need some scrapbooking paper
Variouse types of straws, and what i mean by various
is that this straw here and this straw here are
two different sizes in particular they can fit together
Popsicle stix or toothpicks, the toothpicks would be
if your'e making this craft for a smaller doll like a
lalaoopsy or a polly pocket
some recycled cardboard, some scissors, and ofcourse hot glue.
okay let's get started, first using my straws and my doll
I'm going to cut my straws to the correct size
once you cut your straws to the correct sizes it should look like this.
for any size of doll you have, now if your'e making this for an
18 inch doll you may want to reinforce your straws if your'e using straws
I recommend you use wooden dowels for a doll of that size
for a lalaooopsy small coffee straws would be just fine
now with your recycled cardboard make a design
here I will explaine my design I have
rectangular pieces here and this is the top which we did surfaced that your
doll will be serving her food on
then the front and back and both sides
to the front and back I have added tabs to each side
as measurements will be listed, before we continue making the basic body
we're going to place four holes into the pattern
and your'e going to want one here and one parallel across to it
and then on the front and back flaps
your'e gonna want it in the same place you may want to use a measuring tool
I'm just gonna guess right around the middle so when i cut it out
I'll be able to make more accurate punctures carefully cut
outside the lines now on your scrapbooking paper
trace the design, now cut the design out.
just for good measure you may want to cut a little bit outside of the tracing
now on both our paper and cardboard design
score on the folding lines, with the cardboard
I would score the fold lines with an exacto knife but very carefully
and do not puncture all the way through the cardboard
now I'm gonna poke the holes in this spots i have marked, my method of this
is finding the area that I wanna puncture the whole in, taking an
exacto knife making a small hole
then grabbing a pencil, and digging hte pencil through the hole
make sure that your straw can snugly fit into the holes
now with your scrapbooking paper pattern
facing down i'm going to place the cardboard
right above it very accurately
and Mark the areas where I'm going to place the holes
for the paper I would use a hole punch
now I'm going to assemble these, first i'm going to assemble my cardboard
I'm going to use hot glue, and hot glue the tabs together
now that this
box is assembled were going to just
hot glue our scrap booking paper over it
make sure to line up the holes on the scrap booking paper with the holes on the cardboard
I had extra on the sides because i added them before
but with extra you can just fold it like that and hot glue into place
now i am going to re-puncture the holes with a pencil, now it's time to use all of our pre-cut
straws
and our box and assemble them together first i'm going to grab my fourteen inch
straw and place it on the left side and now i'm going to grab
my other fourteen inch straw and place it on the right side
now I will grab my 5 inch straw a place it through the wheel hole
this is where our wheels will be placed, and the shade straw.
you can easily adjust this to fit correctly with the straws at top
Now with everything glue or tape all of your straws in place
we are going to move to the next step
the wheels, first I'm gonna trim my popsicle sticks once your popsicle
sticks are cut to size
cut your normal peace and a half
angle it at the end, put a dab of glue here
and then place them just like this
make two, now with
scrap cardboard I have cut rims in it, I made sure that these would glued on and
there would be no
extra Popsicle stick sticking out
Next trace your rims on to a piece of scrap booking paper, cut them out
Now glue the paper rim, the cardboard rim
and the Middle piece together with hot glue, once the wheel is assembled
hot glue it to the straw
once you have placed one wheel on the straw, slid your straw through the groove
and trim the wheel to the correct size then hot glue the other wheel
on top , once youv'e assembled the wheels it should be able roll
now I'm going to assemble the top slide
the straws through each of the holes
while your um stand is straight up just pull this straw down and glue it in place
now hot glue the straw closed then hot glue two buttons of your choice to look
like wheels
okay now you should have something that looks like this all assembled and very nice
but we still have to make the shape grab a desired peace scrapbooking paper
but we still have to make the shade, grab a desired piece of scrap booking paper
and sketch out a design, cut it out, crease on the lines drawn
on the side flaps in particular you are going to want to cut
in the middle of each. I measured and cut flaps
then rounded that she finished assembling the shade
I'm going to place a lot of hot glue down the middle
and put it on top of the coffee start and
while I your death here added a little bonus
Here I have just added a piece of scrap booking paper covered cardboard bent it over and glue a coffee straw to it.
