I start making guitars in the mid nineteen eighties
about 1984, 86 I started I'm up to a hundred and eighty two
I can get one done in a week because it's not a hobby this shape is a new 1
I just
did on the fly here we started early we brought in our wood
so many different types of wood a lot of different woods will work well actually
we're using
box elder for a body which is new to me cuz I've never seen it before
and we have neck made with hickory
and to do so it's an odd combination but it will work first thing we made was
the neck that we're almost up to the finish on the neck
been chipping away at it over the last couple days
it's a thing it takes longest as it's the most meticulous it's the
the hardest part about it there's basically a neck and a body
once neck was established made body and then
shaped it out got it way it's supposed to be
when we gave it all ready its glued together in
and make it work really that's the next stage tomorrow
its the things going to have to work and
we're going to make it work
somebody's gonna play it. I'm
terrible, I'm embarrassing I'm not been the subject anybody to that
my days as a musician are over
my specially is making other can play
it will be exciting for me to watch somebody pick it up and do whatever they do
its my job to make it
work making so they pick it up and go "wow"
they are generally impressed which surprises me to because
it's my job you know it's just what I do
thats as my fix
making things from nothing
honestly I got lucky that I can make a living
