Whenever we feel like eating something instantly or light, we often make pulao.
Pulao can be prepared differently in various flavors.
Today we will make tomato pulao.
Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making tomato pulao.
Rice - 1 cup (cooked)
Fine paste - 3 tomatoes and 1 green chilly
Ghee - 2-3 tbsp (oil can also be used)
Green peas - ½ cup
Green coriander - 2-3 tbsp (finely chopped)
Curry leaves - 8-10
Ginger - 1 inch baton (paste)
Whole spices - 2 brown cardamoms, ½ inch cinnamon stick, 4 cloves and 8-10 black pepper
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Salt - 1 tsp (as per taste)
Let’s start with the procedure of making tomato pulao.
Add ghee in preheated pan.
Firstly add green peas in pan and sauté until they get crispy.
Cover and cook for 1 minute.
Take them out.
Green peas are optional.
Now add cumin seeds.
Coarsely ground the whole spices.
Add the spices and sauté for while.
Now add tomato paste into it and cook until oil starts separating from it.
If you wish eating spicy then add red chilly into it.
Also add ginger paste, curry leaves (cut finely).
Masala is ready; now add green peas, salt and green coriander into it.
Add rice in the masala as well.
Cook on low flame.
Pulao is ready; take it out in a plate.
Garnish with green coriander leaves.
Lip smacking and luscious tomato pulao is ready.
Serve with curd or pickle.
