Hi! This is the first day we are recording the drums...
I´m a bit nervous, because... well... I´m the first one
to record, and that´s always a great responsibility...
Anyway, we´re here, really looking forward to beginning...
Let´s see how... "Wake Up!" goes on.
When we were composing "Lostown", Pedro used to...
bring a song... with the chords... with the voice melody...
and then, we all together started working on it... until...
until we obtained the final result of "Lostown".
For... for "Wake Up!", everything has been a bit different.
One brings and idea... we all start working on it...
here in the rehearsal place... all together...
It has been more like a... a team work. I think this album
has also been... a step forward in that sense... of work...
of learning how to work... as a band.
(Arturo): Hey, Jose. Show me... that design a little bit.
Jose): Look, this is the... this is our choice...
our final choice for our... for our album "Wake Up!"´s cover.
Because from among the options that Sam Hayles gave us,
we thought this was the one that... without... without too
many details... being something really simple... You see, it´s
just... just some dark colours... a bit of pink... a bit of green...
it says a lot. I mean, being such a simple design, it says a lot
Our story with Sam Hayles is a bit... a bit funny, because when
we finished... all the process for "Lostown"... all the recording and
everything... José Antonio Medina, who worked with us at that
time as well... he told us: this is... this is the guy who will design
your next album´s artwork. Then, when we started looking...
for someone to do it... for "Wake Up!", we remembered that
so we said: let´s find that e-mail he sent us...
how was the name of that guy?...
At the end, we found it... we talked to him... and indeed he was
the person who designed the album´s cover... well...
and the booklet...and the whole design.
The recording of an album... more if it´s the first album... is an
experience that marks you for life. I... I didn´t think it
was going to be this way... actually... actually, you don´t know
what´s going to happen... and really it´s... it´s a very hard
experience sometimes, because you realize... for example...
as a musician, you realize you have bad habits when you play...
things... things you don´t see until you face a microphone... or
some microphones... and you have... to record. So, it´s a hard
experience sometimes... and it can... it can be difficult... but it´s a
very fulfilling experience and very nice because... once you´ve been
through it, you look back and say: what a goog thing is... that I took
this step... that made me evolve so much as a musician and as
a person.
