The following video is an example of how to launch a Collaborate session.
This was done on a Windows 7 computer using the latest version of Google Chrome.
Your experience may differ depending on your set up.
Once you have logged into Drexel Learn, click on the Tech Support tab.
From there, within the Collaborate module, click on the bitly link to access the test session.
Enter a name in the box provided and click Submit.
A JNLP file will be downloaded to your computer. In Google Chrome, be sure to choose Keep for the file.
Click on the file to launch the session. This will start Java.
You will be asked to allow the application to run. If you want to skip this confirmation, check the box provided.
Click Run to continue launching Collaborate.
This will load up the Collaborate interface.
From here, at the top right of the Audio & Video panel, click on the microphone icon with the red asterisk to launch the Audio Setup Wizard.
Choose your audio output device. These would be headphones or speakers. Click OK.
Click the play button. You should hear audio playing. On the next page, confirm whether or not you heard the audio.
Choose your audio input device. This would be a microphone that is either built-in or attached to your computer. Click OK.
Click the Record button, speak into your microphone and then click the Stop button.
Click the play button. You should hear yourself in the playback. On the next page, confirm whether or not you heard the audio.
Once you are able to successfully hear the audio and test your microphone, click OK.
You're now all set to use Collaborate from this computer. If you use another computer, be sure to follow the same steps.
