Jo here with Michael's holiday party.
I want to show you one of the hottest ideas in paper crafting for the holidays.
These little paper wind mills we made last week back in the studio and I want to show you how easy they are with the Martha Stewart scorer.
Hi I'm Val and today I'm going to show you how to make this pleaded paper rosettes.
These are on all the paper crafting sites, you're probably wondering how to make them.
We'll there really simple.
What I'm going to do is start with a piece of 12x12 scrapbook paper.
For this particular rosette I'm starting with a four inch strip of paper.
So cut you're 12x12 into thirds.
The next thing you're is take a decorative corner punch, this is the one I've used and you're going to punch along one edge.
So it will look like this.
So once you've done that you're going to lay you're strip onto the scoring boardÉ.
and you're going to quickly tool into the grove every half inch, just pull down towards you.
So you just do that until you get to the end of the paper.
When you're done that to all three strips you're just going to tape the strips together using double stick tape, I used our tacky tape.
Once you've done that.
You can go ahead and plead you're paper.
So just fold it back and forth like you would a fan.
So once you get to that point, you can adhere these strips into a circle.
So just attach them together at the end so you have a big loop like that.
Flip it upside down, on a flat surface.
Push the ends down like that and you can see that you already have the makings of you're rosette.
What I like to do is push the pleats in a little bit closer and I take a piece of chip board or card stock put some hot glue on it.
Go ahead and pull the pleats in like that and put you're card stock on just like that and hold it.
Soon as the glue dry's flip it over.
You can kinda adjust it still while the glue is a little bit warm still.
So once you've got you're paper rosette you want to take a piece of chip board.
Punch it out of a three inch puch.
Take some coordinating scrapbook paper and also punch it out of a three inch punch.
You're going to go ahead and glue these together.
You can simply glue that on top of you're paper rosette, on the very top one.
You can layer them two and three deep how ever many you want to do.
Now you can see we've done this unconventional paper reef, using the same technic.
We've taken several different sizes of the paper rosettes and layered them.
Finished them off with glitter stickers and rhinestones, you can use buttons things like that.
And the're simple glued to a reef form.
So we would love to see you try this technic.
Put you're creations up on Facebook so we can all see them.
