Before, it was not a cartoon show..
MegaToonTv was in fact Pinoy Muzika on Youtube
Obviously, Pinoy Muzika is more about Filipino music
I was trying to promote Filipino Music.
Before, there were a few Filipino Music or most of them are not HD
I upload HD videos just for entertainment
So Filipinos, who wants to listen music, will have an alternative source
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with copyright before
So those videos were flag for copyright reasons
That's the time I stopped uploading those Filipino Music
And switched over to creating an animation show
So that's how MegaToonTv Started
At first, MegaToonTv is all about cartoons
Later on I have interests in other areas like trivia
You're given different trivia about random things
So MegaToonTv expanded from cartoons to almost everything even non related cartoon
The name MegaToonTv came from..
Mega, means multiple. And Toon, from cartoon.
So MegaToon is like a cartoon in different ways.
Cartoon comedy, action and also love story
So MegaToonTv channel is all about cartoon, non-cartoon and anything under the sun
So that's what I plan to do in my channel
Well, No. I don't have any formal training in animation
Although, I grew up with a passion to draw
As a kid, I like drawing and joining in competitions
And one of my dreams is to become an animator.
But during those times, I believe there's no money in fine arts from where I live
Unless you create a painting, which is not popular here in the Philippines
I was thinking after I graduate Fine Arts, I would just end up in comic making (not also popular here)
It doesn't pay off if you're a comic cartoonist here in the Philippines
To answer your question, I have no experience in animation
However, it was my lifelong dream to create an animation and to share my art in general
Most of my viewers thought MegaToonTv is composed of not less than 5 persons
MegaToonTv is actually a one-man army, from the design
from the story, from the animation, from the voice
Although from time to time I get help
MegaToonTv is my brainchild
Everything you see in the show was produced by me
So sometimes the episode is delayed.
Making the story is already time consuming. After that you have to animate it.
Or to create the character so you can use that on the show
Afterwards you have to use props like sound effects, background music, then edit
So a 2-3 minute episode roughly takes about 2-3 days to make
If it's more complicated, it takes me a week or so
Although I already used a lot of characters over my channel
I also have a spoof of Justin Bieber
The main Filipino themed episodes have about 5 regular characters
I have thought about their names.
Something people are familiar of and at the same time has a little comedy on it
The first character I created is Elbis Presko (*Presko = Cool)
I guess it's obvious it came from the singer "Elvis Presley" singer
Elbis Presko is the main guy of the show
Elbis Presko's voice is my normal voice with a little cartoony tone
Elbis' background. He's a cool dad with a daughter named Jowlens.
Elbis is basically a wholesome guy as much as possible he is neutral
He's not negative. He's more on positive
Now let's go back to Elbis' daughter. Is another character, Jowlens Kulit (*Kulit = annoying)
Where did Jowlen's name came from? Jowlens has two meanings.
First, from a Filipina Actress named Jolina
And from Jolen, which is a Filipino term for marbles
Marbles are so tiny and when you stepped on them they hurt
Jowlens is a little girl who is sometimes annoying
She has so many questions in life
She is innocent. But sometimes her innocence is annoying
Something like a Filipino version of Dennis the menace
So next is Boogie Woogie. The name Boogie, has no special meaning
but it rhymes with Woogie
Boogie is an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker)
As a Filipino we have OFW friends, neighbors and relatives
So Boogie Woogie represents the majority of Filipinos who works abroad
Boogie's personality is trying to re-explore the Philippines and a friend of Elbis.
Next one is a macho type or masculine type
Abu Sarap from "Abu Sayyaf", a rebel group here in the Philippines
Abu Sarap is a macho guy but instead of terrorizing people
He is a bully type of character with a bit of humor
The last one, I always use in the show is Father Banal (*Banal = Holy)
Father Banal is the complete opposite of Abu Sarap
If Abu Sarap is negative, Father Banal is the positive guy
In Philippine culture we are more of Catholicism and Christianity
So Father Banal represents the day-to-day Filipino Christianity
So these 5 character ranging from Elbis Presko, Jowlens the annoying kid
OFW Boogie Woogie, Abu Sarap from rebel group
And the Filipino Christian, Father Banal
These 5 characters represent the day-to-day Filipino community
Its where everything Filipino day-to-day story unfolds
Probably, I will add more characters in the future. But in the meantime
I'll stick to these 5 characters and give them more depth in their personality
Last message, I want to thank anyone who made MegaToonTv possible
Before, I never expected that somebody would watch my videos
So Thanks to all the people who supported me from youtube, from my facebok fan page.
Btw, if you haven't liked my fan page, I'll put the link in the description below
I really appreciate if you like my fan page and also subscribe to my channel
More subscriptions means I have greater audience
Thanks to all who contributed in their own way
Also "stay tuned" besides doing cartoons. Maybe I'll also do other things like reviews
Something like game reviews. Coz actually I'm a gamer too
So who knows stay tuned. MegaToonTv will be right back
