Hi. My name is Sheryl McGlochlin with crazysheryl.com and on behalf expertvillage.com, we want to
talk about how to carry your snowshoes if you are not wearing them and they are nowhere
near your car, or you are nowhere near your car. You can go ahead and slip your poles
right through. Sometimes, not all snowshoes have this feature, but you can put them through
and you can even carry them on your back. The most important thing if you are going
to carry them this way is to be able to make sure that the spikes are not directly against
your back like Oscar has here; they are away from the body and not going to be walking
and pounding on your back. You can carry them this way. Lots of times, the trail may be
completely packed down and you won't need to wear your snowshoes. When you are walking
however, you can see how Fred has his poles up in the air, because if I'm walking right
in back of him, I don't want to get stabbed by his poles. So, you don't want to walk too
close to the person who is in front of you. That is an important thing; to know how to
carry snowshoes. If you don't have poles, you can just hang on to them, again, with
your gloves. And, again, just hang on to them and walk with them if you are tired of wearing
snowshoes and you just need to get them off and walk with you because there will be many
occasions where you need to do that.
