We'll now show you how to make a carrier board. We are going to be using a piece of pre-coated
board; the boards that we coated up with the self-mounting film or the media tack adhesive
that we showed you earlier. This is a piece of 2 millimetre card. We'll-- we're going
to be mounting this piece of silicon release paper, which is the excess waste silicon release
paper from the satin matte laminate that we used to laminate the image earlier and we
are going to put the one on top of the other. So, starting at the corner of our carrier
board, we'll just dig in one of the shortest edges, lift up the release paper. Put a crease
into the release paper. We can then take our piece of siliconized paper and you'll notice
that we've got a shiny side and a paper side, the paper side will go against the adhesive;
the siliconized, shiny side will be faced upwards. So, we'll make sure that the paper
covers the whole of the board. We can then smooth out.
Okay, so over to the rollers. We'll introduce the board to the rollers, making sure that
it's parallel. We then need to catch that first inch, 25 millimetres into the rollers.
This time the release papers will go up over the top; again making sure that this release
liner is nice and tight against the roller, we can then remove the release paper as it's
going through. We then have a siliconized board; if we take
a piece of adhesive, you will see that nothing will stick to it, it will just release itself.
