Hi Beauty Junkees. I'm here today with a how do I do my eye makeup, cat's eye makeup tutorial.
I'm sure everyone is probably familiar with the cat's eye and the ton of variations that
go along with it, some of which being the super, super thick, some with the wingtip,
some that even go above and below. Kind of crazy, kind of like it.
I'm going to include a link to a Facebook page picture that we've got that features
just a ton of them that you can try out at home, but today I'm going to go ahead and
show you just the basic cat eye, something that if you are interested in doing your eye
makeup a little differently it's something you should have in your toolbox. It's a look
you can play up for a night out or play down for more of a natural daytime look, and it's
easy, super quick and only requires a few tools.
To begin, the tools I'm going to be using are an Estee Lauder eye pencil in black, Loreal
carbon black telescopic liquid liner and Estee Lauder More than Mascara mascara along with
an eyelash curler I got from the dollar store. Don't judge me. Don't judge me. Anywho, I
use two different ... I use a pencil and liquid liner because I feel that you get sort of
like a practice line to follow with your liquid liner, which helps if you're not super steady
in the hand. Additionally, I really like this liquid liner because it's more of like a marker
tip. It's not like a paintbrush, which I am not completely skilled at.
As you can see I've already done a little bit to my eyes. It's the afternoon right now.
So, I'm not looking to glam it up, and I may do another video later with a smoky Eye and
glam it up for you then, but today we're going to keep it simple. So, I'm going to go ahead
and start with my pencil on the top lid just going right along the lash line all the way
across. Okay, now we'll repeat that on the other eye. I really love these Estee Lauder pencils because
they're super, super blendable so for those days that you don't want to wear liquid liner
they really give you a soft look.
Okay. As you can see I've gone just over the top. Nothing fancy. Next step is you're going
to wing it out a little bit, and I generally will go from the corner of your eye all the
way to ... Well, not all the way clearly. Not doing the clown thing, but you're going
to wing it up towards the end of your eyebrow. So, what I'll do is I'll just pull a little
bit here and kind of wing it up that way. Still, you can see, doesn't really look that great yet,
but the trick comes in with the liquid liner.
Okay, so I've gone up, as we can see, on both eyes. I'm going to add a little bit in there.
Next I'm going to take my liquid liner, and I'm going to go over top everything I just
did. I generally do this in two stages. I'll do it towards the center of my eye out and
then I'll do the inner corner of my eye in. Okay. So now that we've got that you can see
I've winged them up in the same places I've winged them up and you can tell their a little
bit different, but it's okay because the end result is still going to be good.
Now from that exterior corner what I'm going to do is just draw a line straight back and
then that's going to widen the edge up for you and give you that cat eye look. It's almost
like drawing kind of a triangle at the edge of your eye and then filling it in. So, now
that we've got the tops done oh, oh, you're going to come to the inner corner and just
below you're going to make just a little notch down
You can leave it at this with this stage and just add mascara or you can go along for a
smokier look and add liner to the bottom, which I'm going to go ahead and do, right
along the water line and then a little bit thicker out towards the edge. Voila! Finally,
for the eyelash curler. I was afraid of these things for years. I don't know why. They really
work. Okay. A little bit of mascara, and there you've got it. A quick simple cat eye. Hope
you enjoyed it. Leave any questions, comments, tips, feedback, complaints, random bits of
beauty, makeup tips, whatever in the comments below and we'll see you next time. Thanks.
