Although Catherine Latu won't be allowed to play for the Silver Ferns
in the Netball World Cup in Singapore,
she is still practicing with the team for following games.
Catherine Latu measuring up for her black skirt, but she's staying home.
Last week, Catherine Latu was named in the team,
but knowing that it was to be confirmed.
But the international council responded yesterday
saying the NZ council were too late in submitting their application
and in the end Latu was not accepted.
In 2007, Latu played for her birth-country Samoa,
but she now wishes to play for the country that has nurtured her.
However, she left it four years too long.
She is one of the ANZ Championship's top shooters.
Selectors now have the task of finding a new shooter.
On the 3rd of July,
the Silver Ferns will play their first World Cup match.
Latu will be allowed in the NZ team once the World Cup has ended.
