I'm gonna talk about
grip and alignment
I use a fan grip
the fingers are spread across the flight plate
the thumb pinches into the index finger
the pad of the thumb
most of the pressure is into
the first knuckle here
there's not much disc into the palm of the hand
and the thumb is more pinching into the flight plate
should be or into
the disc should aligned to the forearm so the plane of the disc matches the arm
it's actually the whole arm
what I see a lot people do is
curl fingers in the palm
or in all the knuckles
when really you just want it in the first knuckle
also
what the over curling does
will often put the thumb too far forward
and you will see the disc is not aligned
to the forearm any more
and you will have to swing off plane
to compensate for that
it also doesn't apply pressure across the whole disc
in my grip
i don't like to
scrunch things up
I like to spread the pressure out
more like I was throwing it like a hammer
it feels like a holding the disc with the handle like this
and I'm just slinging
the head of the hammer out to the target
it also goes along the thumb
so the thumb is the handle
when I'm gripping it feels like I'm gripping a hammer
and throwing it just like this
I'm holding the weight back
until the very last part and then slinging
the hammer head out there
and it's not trying to spin the hammer cause
you're not gonna throw the hammer very far spinning it
but if you're throwing it out there it's gonna spin
same exact way with the forehand
the grip doesn't really change either
from a putter to a driver
it all starts pretty much the same way
start with
lining the disc between these two fingers
Folding the middle finger in
and then wrapping index around the rim
and pinching
with the thumb
so switching to a fan grip
all i do is spread the fingers out across the flight plate
and the thumb doesn't move from different grips
this would be modified power grip just tucking the two middle fingers in
the disc is aligned to the arm
in every grip, fan grip, power grip, and two finger grip
the grip doesn't change much either
between a backhand 2 finger and
a 2 finger forehand grip
I use the bent finger power grip
the middle finger is flat against the inside of the rim
the index is bent
and also applies pressure the inside rim
the thumb is clamping down
pinching down
the disc can pivot freely
I'm not really gripping hard
and I can feel the weight of the disc moving back and forth
flipping to a forehand to a backhand
its very easy
same thing
with the alignment of the disc
with a forehand to the forearm
and it's just a pop the end
same with the backhand
keep the disc loaded
so the edge of the disc will
sling out
the grip should be fairly loose
firm so it's not gonna go anywhere
but at the very end you're gonna grip pretty hard
everything starts
nice and slow.........and then fast at the end
so the looser you are the fast you can be
also smoother
also with the forehand grip using a putter
I switch to a
2 finger power grip
the middle finger is still applying pressure into the inside rim
and it's actually more a fan grip
I feel with the index pinching more into the flight plate
it's much easier to control the flight plate this way
I can still throw
with the bent finger or sometimes fan the index way out
to the middle of the plate
