whats good its fevir- and lets go over the dhorme chimera fight.
this is a boss fight that the ridiculously long a relic reborn questline brings you to-
its about step 103 or 104- and is the first boss fight where you cannot opt to use the
duty finder. i recommend 1 tank- 2 healers and the rest dps- and if you wish to trivialize
the fight- make sure you have a bard and paladin.
the fight is simple- and without going into great detail- this boss has the standard boss
attacks. front cones, cleaves, rear cones, ranged red circles of ***. Basically, keep
the boss faced away from the group- and move out of red and you're halfway home. melee
are going to need to take chimera from behind- or close to it because chimeras cleave attack
runs from the front of the beast to the left and right side- as opposed to just staying
frontal. aside from that you are also going to have to deal with ice patches left behind
from ranged attacks and chimera will also attack you with its balls... these balls will
place a targeting reticule on a party member and home onto them- it is that members duty
to run away from all others and take that ball to the face with no one around as it
will explode and hurt everyone in an AoE from the testicular contact.
...NOW. boring stuff out of the way. There are 2 abilities that you need to know the
names of. Dragon's Voice & Ram's Voice. These are important because they are the basics
of the fight mechanics. Dragon's Voice does a large AoE in a donut pattern around Chimera..
deal large Lightning damage to those who don't run and stack on Chimera... the timbit if
you will. And inversely to that- Ram's Voice- will deal damage on the timbit- and you are
safe if you run away from Chimera.
So this combination of stacking and running away when dealing with balls and ice patches
could be tricky.. if Chimera's abilities weren't stunnable and silencable. To make this fight
trivial, assign a party member to stun all Dragon's Voice, and another to Silence all
Ram's Voice. or vice versa- it doesn't matter. But don't mix up stuns and silence as you
dont want to run into resists. Paladin for stuns, Bards for silences works wonders. With
those abilities out of the way- deal with the red get the *** away zones- and the balls
to the face... and you're golden.
And you didn't even need to learn what happens when their faces light up... which generally
results in death if you weren't already interrupting his Voice attacks.
So... that's Chimera. there are other tricks where you can bug out the abilities by using
the Z axis- but it's largely unneeded. Because there are no strict DPS requirements- even
if your bard just autoattacks to keep his GCD open for silencing his assigned abilities-
he is doing his job.
You can drag him into the watery area for more space to deal with the balls and ice patches-
but is largely un-needed.
Anways- this is Fevir... peace
