so here we have a kilim rug
and uh... as you can
probably see, there's a
urine stain, where a dog had an accident, just here and the customer
used his own cleaning products, to try and remove the smell
we've been asked to
professionally clean this rug
and the first step will be to
try and remove or rinse out, all of the cleaning agents that the customer used
when trying to remove that stain
that's what we'll do now
we'll
we've got a
a neutral cleaning agent in our tank and basically
we're going to feed it through the rug, extracting all those cleaning chemicals, here we go
go
now that we've
extracted all the soap and
detergents that the customer
has put onto the rug
we're now going to treat the areas, where the dog had his accidents
with a urine neutraliser
and we'll leave this to soak for uh...
as long as possible really
so it works
works at any urine that's left in the rug
and i will continue to do this on both sides of the rug in both areas
and uh... leave it
probably, for about 4 hours
before we start the actual cleaning process
so, we'll continue to
spray this carpet
and we'll see you soon, so now we're ready to
clean the rug, the first thing we have to do is to try and remove
as much dry soil as possible
the way we do that is by vacuuming
as thoroughly as possible
first, in a north
south direction
then we'll turn around and vacuum in an east west direction
trying to get in amongst all those fibres
so, we'll continue to do this for all of the rug
we'll do it for both sides, we'll turn it over
and do exactly the same on the other side
uh... we'll see you soon. Ok, so the first thing we have to do when
washing the rug, is to first flood it
so i'll cover it with
uh... just plain water at the moment. We will be adding
the shampoo
giving that a bit of agitation
to break up the dirt, and then extracting all that dirt
and rinsing
so will carry on flooding this rug
and we will see you soon
so now we're ready to apply the shampoo
just put a fine amount
all over
like so
and this will get scrubbed into the rug
breaking up all the soil
and then we'll remove all the slurry
we're now ready to scrub the rug
should be able to see all the shampoo
foaming up
breaking up all the dirt as we go along
we will continue to do this
on both sides of the rug
and uh... I'll see you shortly, as soon as we've finished. Now, we've turned the rug over
we've put the soap down
and we're scrubbing that into the back of the rug. as you
can see, we're applying
plain water same time
to get as much soil out of the rug as possible
we're looking to get a nice
lather from the shampoo
all we need to do now is rinse all of that out
now we're rinsing all of that
shampoo and dirt
out of the rug
we'll have to do this a few times
to make sure that there is no shampoo left
in the rug
Ok
now what we're doing is extracting all that
water
out of the rug
we have a high
powered suction
connected to this wand which is drawing the water
out of the rug
as I say
we'll do this a few times
we'll extract what's in there now and flood it again with water
extract that and flood it again
and extract that, by then all of the soap
and any dirt will be out of the rug
We'll carry on doing that
so. now we have the rug all
cleaned, we've rinsed all the shampoo out and all the dirt
uh... extracted as much of the water as possible
now we've got it hanging up to dry
and uh...
in this room, it's a heated room with blowers and
this rug should be dry in an hour or two
This is how you clean a kilim rug
