Hello
I am Christine Theiss and I am the world champion of kickboxing and you?
are watching SportEagle TV
coming up on Sport Eagle TV
our weekend spotlight focuses on Steko's Fight Night in Munich on Friday
march,2nd
headlining the event is none other than WKA Champion in full-contact
kickboxing Dr. Christine Theiss.
The German has won 33 of her 34 fights, drawing only once and
will defend the title she's held since 2007
her original opponent Britain's Natalie Bee had to drop out due to a personal
situation
Bee hold 6 titles and would have been a formidable opponent
replacing Bee will be WAKO featherweight and super lightweight champion Olja
Kerajic
The 22-year-old who hails from Bosnia Herzegovina will provide a
challenge as Theiss has had to adjust your training to prepare for this new
opponent.
Oh, of course, I am well prepared for her. It was, I think about four weeks ago
that they have to change my opponent.
The new consequence for us was that we asked new girls to come to Germany.
They were 2 girls from Poland,
that fight exactly or similar like Olja Kerajic
and I think we found it and I had
good times in sparring and I am really wekk prepared for her.
Theiss is the clear favorite
but a challenger can surprise you as we saw last week when heavyweight boxer
Alexandar Povetkin underestimated his opponent Marco Huck.
Theiss gave her opinion on that as well.
Every time and next opponent is the most important opponent in my life.
That's my thinking.
And I couldn't understand Povetkin.
It', it's
completely out of my world how a man, a World Champion can think in this way.
and and for me the next fight is the most important fight in my life and
that's my thinking everyday, every day and every training and I always said
that
all the things and all the blood I loose in the ring and uh... all the
sweat I loose here in the ring I don't loose in the ring of the real fight.
And that's my thinking
The main event includes "Mighty Mo" from the US fighting for the first time in
Germany.
The former K1 Grand Prix winner in Hawaii and Las Vegas will go up against
WKA World Heavyweight champion Florian "The Fist" Pavic.
Mo is almost 20 years older than Pavic, but both fighters expect that
won't be an issue in the ring.
It's an opportunity to fight a young guy, that's up and coming
I'll let him know, where he belongs. Actually I am training a lot
with guys that move a lot.
and guys that are lighter than me
you know, so, and staying very active
to put the pressure on so I know, those guys are gonna
move and try to stay away from me or try to get me tired but
I've been well conditioned for it. At this point man, I'm still active and I am
moving fast as ever,
strong and I am sparring a lot, you know so I mean
you know it's not like someone just wake up and say, I'm gonna come over here and fight this guy.
You know, I've been training and training in the gym and every day you're going to the gym
training really hard
going through uh... the trials and tribulations before the fighting
so this is just the fight before the fighting
I trained good and I'm motivated to fight against "Mighty Mo". "Mighty Mo" is a big name in the sport, but
I also think that I can beat him and we will see on Friday. I expect always the full distance
because
you can't go in the ring and say 'I will knock him down' it takes its time and we'll see
I am also
satisfied with
a win over the distance.
I've seen all the videos of him
and I think that we have good training
and I think I'm prepared.
The partners that I've trained with together
they are also the
the style of "Mighty Mo" they also have 130 kilo so that I will have the
experience in the training.
Our eyes will be on Thai boxer Willy 'The Lion',
who'll be fighting in the under card.
The WKA ProAm World Champ is originally from Cameroon, made his home
in Germany and explains his nickname and expectations for the fight.
