Hello I'm Bruce Zimmerman Host of the Open Line Garden Show and Certified
Horticulturalist for Rittenhouse.ca. Today we're going to talk about a
series of rakes called the Deluxe Grounds Rakes and here size does matter.
Now let's start with the
Hand Rake. This is for working up close and personal. It has a six-inch head and
an eighteen-inch handle.
Now let's get you up off your knees. We'll go to the Deluxe Spot Rake. This is a nine and
half-inch head and the thirty six-inch handle.
What this is good for is getting in between perennials, tight spots and
moving around mulch
and other things.
And then we move on up to the Deluxe Shrub Rake. Now the Deluxe Shrub Rake
still has the nine and a half inch head but it has a fifty seven inch handle.
This one as it's name indicates is great for going in and through shrubs, bushes,
evergreens, and hedges.
And what you're doing is getting out the debris, leaves etc.
Then we move on up to the big bad boy and the big bad boy is called the Deluxe
Grounds Rake has a twenty one-inch head and a fifty-seven inch handle.
Now this series has very similar features and
what they have is each spring is individually sprung
and because the head and the tines are squared off you'll find that the
pressures are applied equally across the head making your job a lot easier.
The handle is lightweight fiberglass and be top of each rake has a swivel plastic
loop.
This makes it really easy to hang on a nail or a hook but I also like to hang
mine this way on two nails. I find it uses a little less space and I can put other
tools in close.
Now none of these rakes come assembled and they don't come with instructions.
OK.So it is as simple as this; they each handle comes with the pre-drilled hole
and then in the head there's a pre-drilled hole.
You *** them in. You line up the holes and then you take the pin
which is provided
and you take a hammer
stick it in the hole
and you *** it.
and you're done.
