Postcrossing the postcard crossing project
About Postcrossing
Postcrossing is a project which allows people
to receive postcards from all over the world
How to start?
First of all, you need to sign up. You have to do it only once.
It's easy and intuitive - like everything here.
The first step is to request a postcard to be sent.
After logging in click on 'Send a postcard' and follow the instructions.
Eventually you'll see a site similar to this one.
It contains all the information which you need to send a postcard:
Postcard-ID a unique code that uniquely
identifies a postcard in the system
and the address of another member you are sending to
Scroll a bit down and you'll see a small note written by this member.
It may include preferences about postcards.
Pick the best card.
Write the Postcard-ID.
Say something about yourself, your hometown, your country...
Address it.
Put on enough postage.
Check once more if your postcard contains everything needed:
Postcard-ID
address
and stamps.
Go to a letter box and let your first postcard begin its journey.
After a few days you'll get an e-mail from Postcrossing
which will say that your postcard has reached its destination.
After next few days your post box should be filled with something new.
Go to the Postcrossing website and click 'Register a postcard'.
Type in the ID and write a short thank-you note to the sender.
Remember an easy rule:
"the more postcards you send, the more postcards you receive."
Why not start now?
Go to www.postcrossing.com and give your post box a new live!
