Hey YouTube, Hikosaemon here
Today I have a message for Japanese citizens and residents
interested in Copyright Law
from Creative Commons Japan, so stand by and have a listen!
Hi, Hikosaemon here
Today I'd like to relay a message to you
About what, you might ask
Well, right now, the Japanese Ministry of Cultural Affairs
Subcommittee on Copyright Policies
Is, in light of proposed upcoming amendments to Japan's Copyright Law
Deliberating onthe possibility of introducing a concept of "fair use" into Japanese Copyright Law
There are plans to have a "Hearing With Interested Persons" in late August
But at present, only a few people have been invited to join
And all but one of the invitees come from traditional copyright holding backgrounds
Creative Commons Japan is an NPO that applies Copyright Law
To create licenses to allow sharing of works
So as a group interested in Copryight regulation, this Japanese NPO
Is concerned that various creators, users and IT professionals
Can't really have their voices and positions reflected under the current deliberation framework
And so, Creative Commons Japan
Who I also volunteer for sometimes
In order to ensure that such voices can be included in these hearings
Is seeking to gather feedback from as wide a range of people as possible
And to do that, it has published on its website
A survey that will be open until Monday August 17th regarding fair use
It is of course all in Japanese
And is aimed at Japanese citizens and residents
Who are interested in copyright, such as creators, users, IT professionals and such
To allow your voice to be heard, go check out the survey and take just 2 or 3 minute
To fill it out and make your voice heard
That is the aim of this, so if you are interested
All the info you need is posted here in the sidebar
Incidentally, Creative Commons Japan
I have introduced on this channel here before
Is an NPO I volunteer at
It is a group not opposed to copyright
But rather that seeks to apply copyright laws
For people who want to share and not overly restrict their creative works
So that they can, under defined circumstances allow their works to be shared over the intenet
On sites like this at YouTube, through licenses allowing this freedom that they make
While seeking to ensure that the rights of both user and creator are protected
So regarding how material can be made available and used in a fair manner
This group has a direct interest
This is why they want to gather various people's opinions in this case
If you are intersted, definitely check out the links and fill out the survey!
That's it from me, peace!
