I TYPICALLY LIKE MORE TRADITIONAL
OR CRAFTSMAN-STYLE HOMES,
HOMES WITH CHARACTER.
I'M MEXICAN AMERICAN, SO ADDING SOME KIND OF TOUCH
LIKE MEXICAN TILE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
JUST KEEPS THAT CONNECTION TO MY BACKGROUND.
IT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH JUST REALLY TRYING TO RE-CREATE
WHERE SHE FELT A SENSE OF LOVE AND FAMILY BEING AROUND HER.
I THINK YOU PACKAGED IT REALLY WELL, HONEY.

JAMIE'S CREW ATTACHES THE FABRIC TO THE WOOD BEAMS.

THE FOUR ZONES THAT JAMIE MENTIONED DURING THE DESIGN
HAVE REALLY COME TO LIFE. THEY'RE ALL THERE.
IT'S REALLY COOL TO SEE EACH ZONE SEPARATE,
AND AS DISTINCT AS THOSE AREAS ARE,
THEY REALLY FLOW WELL TOGETHER.
SO IT'S COOL, BECAUSE WHEN WE HAVE PARTIES,
WE HAVE FRIENDS OVER, YOU CAN REALLY KIND OF FIND
WHEREVER YOU FEEL MOST COMFORTABLE.

THE BUDGET FOR THE BACKYARD RENOVATION WAS ABOUT $20,000,

WE PURCHASED ALL BRAND-NEW APPLIANCES,
WHICH WAS A BIG THING THAT WE NEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF,
BUT THERE'S STILL A LOT MORE TO DO.
WE STILL NEED TO PAINT THE WALLS.
AND WE DECIDED TO KEEP THE PINK BATHROOM
AND JUST DO, UH, MINOR UPDATES.
REALISTICALLY, THINGS JUST AREN'T MADE
THE WAY THEY USED TO BE MADE, YOU KNOW.
LIKE, TO HAVE SOMETHING THAT STOOD THE TEST OF TIME
